Legend has it that there once was a group of winemakers who loved to ride rodeo on the weekends. They tasted so much red wine while putting the blends together that their teeth turned purple. They became known as the Band of the Purple Cowboys. Purple Cowboy wines are a tribute to these winemaking, rodeo-riding cowboys.
Wine Sisterhood founder, Terry Wheatley, is a breast cancer survivor and the Purple Cowboy wines she created have long given back to Tough Enough To Wear Pink. Terry co-founded Tough Enough To Wear Pink in 2004 with the idea that cowboys would wear pink at the Wrangler® National Finals Rodeo on one night of the competition to raise awareness. The idea took off and a movement was born. To date, $35 million has been raised at rodeos and western events to support families facing breast cancer, early detection, and research.
This gutsy blend comes from cowboy wine country, Paso Robles, CA. The grapes are sourced from the eastern side of the AVA, which is warmer, drier and produces fruit-forward, full-bodied wines with soft tannins and balanced acidity.
Once upon a time in wine country there was a group of young winemakers. They worked hard all week and tasted so much wine that their teeth turned purple. On weekends, these same men loved to rodeo. They became known as the "Band of the Purple Cowboys". So the legend goes. 781b155fdc
